New Homes, Potential New Mom
So T. found a new girlfriend, which he had been denying for months. He could no longer deny it when we caught him pulling out of the turnoff to the girlfriend's house when we were driving with C. in our car - and the girlfriend was in his car. We weren't trying to spy on him, we were merely going the back way to our house. There he was, with the "deer in the headlights" look, L in his passenger seat. C screamed for us to pull over. We thought she was just getting sick, but no; she launched herself out of our car and into T's. Next thing I knew my sister-in-law had a whole handful of L's hair and was bashing her head into the seat of T's truck.
The entire time this was happening, my mother had a hold of L's leg and was trying to violently wrap it around the vehicle. A and Kevin were in Nana B's vehicle screaming and I told her to drive down the road away from this entire psychotic episode, they did NOT need to see this dumpster fire of an incident. Then I turned around in time to see T coming at our mom.
One thing I have to explain about my brother and Kevin - they both have unreal, unholy anger. When I looked up and saw T approaching my mom, he was so angry he literally had drool streaming from his mouth like shoestrings. He resembled Hooch from the old movie Turner and Hooch. Better yet, he looked like he had swallowed a shoe and the laces were hanging out of his mouth.
T has often told people that the worst beating he has ever taken was from me. So I made an executive decision and decided that T was NOT going to hit our mother. If he was gonna hit a woman it was gonna be me, but I was gonna get my licks in. I got in between them, grabbed his collar and got ready to swing.
I'm not really sure how it happened. how we didn't see - but L's daughter was in the truck when this all began. About the time I got ready to swing on T, a car drove up, grabbed L's daughter and took off. I disengaged from T, jumped in Nana B's vehicle (she was back sans children at this time) and had her take me to the nearest house and had them call 911 on everyone. Everyone got taken in (except me since I wasn't at the incident when the police got there. The humor).
Obviously, this incident is what caused the acceleration of their separation. C packed the boys up and brought them over to us, because she had nowhere else to go. We thought we were doing good by taking the mother in. Boy oh boy were we wrong. But I guess it was a good thing, because we could keep track of all of the stupid crap she did and said to them.
The kids were still young so they didn't realize that C was not the best mother on the planet. Her depression from the separation became severe and she began taking it out on the kids - which unfortunately meant mostly Kevin because he was a Mama's boy through and through. I remember I woke up one morning and was laying in bed. She didnt know I was awake and I could hear her eating a yogurt in the front room and Kevin kept asking for a bite and she kept refusing it. Finally she relented and then told him, "Now that you took that bite, Mommy is going to get really skinny and die."
Needless to say, I took care of that.
